Soccer and Birthdays and Fun

Kaelyn started playing soccer this year and we haven't figured out yet if she enjoys it or not.  Some moments she is ecstatic and others she would just prefer to go home and play.  She had her first game yesterday and wasn't real excited about going, but once they got going she had a blast.  She got a jersey and was so excited when she got to go out on the field and when they got a snack.  Not sure if they won or not (a little disorganized) but they didn't seem to care.  Kaelyn spent most of her time on the field dancing in circles, but she did kick the ball away from some kids a few times.  She just didn't understand that she had to keep chasing it.  It was too cute.  Lily kept herself pretty entertained with the kids on the sideline.  Seeing very much how we have very energetic children that want to be in the middle of everything while most everyone else's kids are calm and staying with their parents.  Fun observations.

We celebrated Kevin's 34th birthday this week with a little family time with just the 4 of us.  Lily baked the cake and Kaelyn decorated it.  They had already spilled all the beans to daddy about his presents, but it was still fun giving them to him.

Kaelyn was not too hip on going to school today.  I said she wouldn't want to miss a day of kindergarten and then she said, "oh it will be ok if I miss 1."  Well after a bit more waking up, she was ready to go.  We will see how it all goes.  She hasn't ever had to be away so much, so I am sure there is a lot to get used too.

They did all of the dishes by themselves.  Boy was this momma happy.  And they had fun doing it.  I had showed them mommy's chores after dinner, the big pile of laundry that needed folding and the big pile of dishes and our sweet little girls said, "we will do the dishes!!"

Lily

Precious Lily is having to make some adjustments with her sister being gone, but it seems like she is doing very well.  She misses her sister very much and talks about her often, but mommy and Lily have gotten to have some fun playing at the park and she has enjoyed having the toys to herself.  We have also started preschool at home and it has been amazing in just 3 days to see how much she has learned and what she already knew.  Smart little girl.  She has been finding letter A's all over town and when we talked about the letter B today, she already knew its sound.  We have also been doing a word video (My Baby Can Read) and she remembered 2 words that I showed her from 2 days ago.  I was very impressed.  We love you Lily and I am so excited about getting some special time with you!!!  I already see a new joy in your eyes.

Kindergarten

The time has come to send our first cutie off to Kindergarten.  She was beyond excited today as she lined up and walked inside for her first full day of fun.  She had a blast and is ready to go again.  At her orientation yesterday, she had so many cute delightful things to say.  When asked what she was most excited about, she said it was that she could read all day.  Mrs. Rocchio asked about their siblings and Kaelyn said, "I have a little sister, and I am going to have 2 twin boys."  Way to speak it KK!!  That is our prayer.

On the first full day, she did everything she was supposed too.  Dropped her backpack in the right spot, went to play on the playground, came back when the bell rang and lined up in the right spot.  Then they walked inside (holding back the tears!!) and she waved and keep saying, "bye mom!!"  She was so happy and ready and excited.  We love you Kaelyn, and pray daily that God protect your sweet spirit and that you grow up into an amazing young woman that loves her Papa God more than anything.

Summer 2012

The Germann's have certainly been having a delightful time this summer, enjoying a teacher's schedule of summer's off.  We got to start our summer off with a bang heading to Oklahoma and then to Alaska.  The girls stayed in Oklahoma with Grammy and Papa and had a fabulous time.  Kevin and I headed to Alaska with his family to celebrate his amazing sweet grandmother G.  It was such a beautiful place and a we had a fabulous time getting to spend some quality time with Kevin's family.  Then we came home, had track camp and VBS, then headed to Denver for Kevin's school training PLC.  Then a few days at home and Kevin and the kids headed to Bozeman.  I worked a few days, got the house clean without kids in it and then headed Bozeman as well.  We have been enjoying some great family time here biking, hiking, and spending time with friends.  I have to head home on Wednesday to go to work again and it sounds like there are lots and lots of fires that I will encounter along the way.  Sounds like there is tons of smoke in Gillette. God send rain!!!!
