Just some fun ones

some fun at the zoo with Kristin, Mary and all of the cute kiddos We made Kaelyn a sand box today and she played for close to 2 hours in it. It was fabulous.

Daddy helped Kaelyn pick out this puppy at the toy store while we were birthday shopping for our almost 1 year old. She developed a very fast attatchment to it so we decided to give it to her early. She loves this puppy. She has never been big on something to carry around and cuddle with, but this seems like it might be the beginning of a buddy for her. Good choice daddy!!

Beware, graphic photo below

I have been having a miserable time lately with some nasty poison ivy (thank you goats for getting caught in the brush). As many of you know, I have had poison ivy many times in my life and have seemed to handle it well with home remedies. You can almost say the word poison ivy and I get it. This time though, my whole right arm swelled up and I can't bend my arm and am in lots of pain. I had to actually seek medical attention and get on some steroids. Within a few hours of starting the steroids, things are thankfully looking better. Just had to post a pic of this crazy phenomanon. Beautiful I know!!! Praise God that I don't have to stop breastfeeding though on this medication!!!

A Fabulous Time in New York

Wow, I can't say enough.  We had an amazing time in upstate New York with Kevin.  Kaelyn and I flew out last Thursday and had a great flight.  I was had been praying that it would go well, and we were blessed beyond measure.  First, we sat by two wonderful people that were so helpful and understanding of children on planes.  Then, Kaelyn was just a delight.  On the first flight, she played and on the second, she took a two hour nap.  What more could I ask.  The change in altitude hurt her ears though, but thank goodness for her sippy cup.
Then, we got to see daddy!!!  Kaelyn was very happy to see him.  She seems to really love her daddy even though he is not around much right now.  That makes us both sooooo happy.  Kaelyn wanted to show off and took her first few steps within an hour after we got there.  It was wonderful that she held off for daddy to see.  We were having too much fun to get the video camera out.   She certainly hasn't mastered
it yet and prefers to hold our finger.  She walks well holding onto one hand, but needs some more confidence to really take off.    We got to enjoy some good food, beautiful scenery, and quality time as a family.  We spent a lot of time at Sackets Harbor where the war of 1812 took place.  We also ventured through the Adirandeck Park and on upto Montreal Canada.  Kaelyn was a trooper though it all.  She enjoyed finding sticks and pebbles and pine cones.  The weather was beyond perfect.  Only a slight breeze and warm temperatures.  We did a lot of walking and just soaking it up.  Kevin even went swimming in Sackets Harbor.  Not fully intentionally, but an adventure in and of itself.  The men that Kevin is up there with are very nice and I feel blessed that he is with them.  Enjoy the pics.  I will put up a couple tonight and there will be more coming tomorrow.

One funny story:  Kaelyn has a goofy laugh sometimes that sounds like a machine gun.  One of the guys said to her that she must get rid of that laugh before she starts school.  Everyone laughed and then Kaelyn turned to Sargt. Powers and stuck her tongue out and made a zerbert sound and then looked away and laughed.  It was such funny timing.  And then she went back to her machine gun laugh.  We all got quite a chuckle out of it.

In the Adirandecks were the River meets the Lake

Take note of the pebble in her hand

Walking with one hand next to daddy.  She is checking out the water.

Some places had tons of ice still.  Brrr.  Look at the little cabin on the island

Wyoming here we come

Beautiful Lake.  I think this is Cranberry Lake.  Kevin will have to remind me when he sees this pick.  I am bad with names.

What's up with us

Well, daddy/hubby is in New York right now living it up with the army.  It sounds like he gets to have more fun than work.  Oh well, I am glad that he has a nice calm in life right now.  Kaelyn and I are actually going to be headed up to see him here in a couple of weeks.  We are oh so very excited.  We will get to spend a week in a beautiful part of New York.  It will be fabulous.  That is all for now.
