More Kaelyn Funnies

The other day we were at the lumber store and Kaelyn needed to potty. I was tearing toilet paper to put on the seat and then sat Kaelyn on it and she said, "you sliced it the potty". I couldn't make out the sliced word and asked her to repeat it again. She said, "sliced it, like a piece of bread, you slice it in half" and then proceeded to show me with her fingers how to break something in half. I was super impressed by her ability to describe what she was saying to me.

Kaelyn: open this for me daddy

Daddy: what are you supposed to say

Kaelyn: I love you daddy

Daddy: I love you too Kaelyn, but what are you supposed to say

Kaelyn: please

Now, cute as a button yes. For the most part but now she is testing the limits and really tries to work mommy over. She repeats everything that I have said to her against me. It is making me have to change tactics a bit but all a part of growing up.

Mommy: Kaelyn please put your shorts back on so we can go

Kaelyn: No mommy (sternly)

Mommy: Kaelyn, I need you to put your shorts back on please

Kaelyn: Don't talk to me mommy (very sternly)

Mommy: Kaelyn, you have a choice to put your shorts on now or go to time out

Kaelyn: Ok mommy

I was a bit floored, but I guess I have been telling her several times lately "don't talk to mommy like that again." They learn fast.

Lots going on and having a ball

We have been busy as ever!!! We took a short road trip to Oklahoma gathered up some need stuff from the house, saw family and a few friends and headed back all in 4 days. I know, we are crazy. We then had a family reunion in Basin Wyoming with Kevin's mom's family. It was nice to get to meet a whole lot more of his family. We had a blast except for the tummy bug I had. Thought it was morning sickness getting 10 times worse (didn't know how I was going to survive) until poor Kaelyn ended up with diarrhea and not wanting to eat. I was relieved and sad at the same time. All is well now. We played horse shoes and ate and enjoyed the outdoors.

What happened next? We found out that we are having another precious girl. We are sooo excited and Kaelyn gets to have a sister. What a blessing for her and us. She is looking great and right on schedule with growth. On top of that joy, I am actually feeling a ton better. A bit of morning sickness here and there, but all in all I feel human again.

Oh, and next, we are moving along very smoothly and quickly with our house. Kevin has been making great progress. The basement is done and hopefully tomorrow the first story will be complete (that is concrete poured). By Friday, we should have the roof trusses on. Our box is almost complete. A big thank you to our friends Kevin and Nick who have helped move us along and help get things looking great. We also have water and electricity. I am ready to move in. I love the spot we are on. It is a beautiful view with open skies and the air up there is fabulous. The smells bring back sooo many wonderful memories. We are also feeling beyond blessed by the neighbors that are around us. We just met more today. The two closest to us have girls that are 19 and 20 months old. One has another baby on the way due in September. On Wednesday, I get to meet the rest of the mommas around us at a mom's get together. Fabulous. The men seem great too and Kevin is making some great contacts. It won't be long before we can feel like we live up there.

So, what will we be upto next? Kevin is going to keep plugging away on the house, I am going to keep growing this precious baby, and Kaelyn is going to keep enjoying the fun of summer. We have some friends coming up in a week and a half, guys going back packing and girls and kiddos playing around Wyoming. We also hope to maybe make a trip down to see Micah in Colorado before he is done rafting. All in all, we feel so blessed in life right now, with friends, family, and how everything is paving out. We have been taken care of.

Getting in some pool time too. They had fun.

Another new friend, Ava, who came for the night. Trying to get in something healthy after a dinner out that ended up being too spicy for the kiddos. All they could eat were the fries.

She was enjoying building towers

and putting nails in things.

Here is our walk out basement. The back right is our master for now and Kaelyn is standing in her room. Her sisters room will be just to the right of hers and there will be a bathroom and a staircase.

First story picture window went in. This is our view.

And there is the house with both stories almost complete.
