Thanksgiving

We just had a fabulous Thanksgiving in Sheridan, WY. We drove up and spent Wednesday with Jody and Theresa. We had a fabulous feast and did an early Christmas. It was lots of fun. Great blessing. Then we stayed the night and headed over to Kevin's Aunt and Uncle's house for another feast. We filled up some more and played Moffia as a family tradition. Then back to Gillette. It was a fabulous couple of days. The kiddos had fun too. If only Lily was a better sleeper away from home. Goofy girl.
Thank you God for all of our blessings. Family is such a treasure.

Snow Fun

Last night we got a really good snow. We had about 4-6 inches and it was perfect for playing in. Though the temp outside was around 7 degrees it felt great (bundled up and all) because the wind wasn't blowing at all. Perfect. Lily sat in the snow and giggled and Kaelyn had a ball eating it. We did a bit of sledding, but our sled is great for pulling, not down hill action. They both loved it none the less. Kaelyn even tried out her skis. One didn't have any straps on it (thanks to the neighbor dog) but it was perfect to just wear one. She had a ball even though she fell down a ton. With one ski on, she could get up herself and she had a pole which helped her balance. Then just before going inside, Kaelyn lost a glove and her hand froze and Lily fell face first in the snow. So, we went in for hot chocolate and a snack. Thank you Jesus for bringing us some beautiful snow.

Month Eleven so far

It is amazing how many new things these cute kiddos learn at this age. Lily is loving to talk on the phone and says "Hello" or "hi". 2 days ago she picked up her phone and said twice "hi ow doon". It was so cute. She certainly must be watching us. She is a walking pro now and certainly knows how to share her opinion. She is good at throwing her cup on the ground and when she is done eating she starts to throw her food on the ground. If you ask, "are you all done?", she will put her hands in the air. She has almost completley rejected the potty for peeing now, so we will just take a small break there but she is still pooping on the potty just fine. As soon as she gets off, she pees. Silly girl. Lily had her first puking episode when we had a tummy bug going on. She also has nasty cold. Trying to clean up after her around the house is a real chore because she pulls everything out. She can now stack her blocks on the pegs and loves playing with her Little People. I can't believe she is almost 1 year old.

Family Fun

So, I have come to the conclusion that we are rarely ever not busy. I keep trying to come up with a way to calm life down, but it never really seems to work. We certainly have fun though. The big thing this last month was that we headed to Salt Lake City for Kevin's cousin, Mandi's wedding. We had a blast. It was short and sweet but was a great chance to go. We now have egg laying chicks and that has been a wonderful things. Delicious!!! God's creation is so cool.

Kevin is now substitute teaching, which is going well and keeping him busy. He has applied for an assistant track coaching position at the junior high which would be wonderful too. He has sent off his application for his teaching license and now it is just waiting for a position to open up for him. Exciting times!! The last two days that he has worked, Kaelyn has really missed daddy though. It was cute. All the better when he comes home now.

We have done some more trim work upstairs and the living room is looking much more complete. If only I would finish the painting. Kaelyn's bunk bed is complete and she loves it. Kaelyn has been a busy little bee. Doing gymnastics and loving to do school at home. She is also starting to get interested in playing games like Zingo (Bingo) and memory. He mind is absorbing so much and it is so much fun to watch her learn. She is so independent. She loves to get her own milk out of the fridge and attend to everything she possibly can on her own. She has become a good laundry folder too and is enjoying earning a bit of money for it. Amazingly she hasn't spent any of it yet, but she is learning some good lessons about money because she sees so many things she wants.

Not much has changed for me and that is ok. I am feeling much more able to manage time well with two kids though, and that feels good. If only a fairy could come and clean my house for me, all would be well.

Month 10

Our new wool pants

First experience with pumpkin seeds

Yummy food!! I love to eat.

Goat's milk is good stuff.

Favorite spot to watch our animals.

Lily Anne is growing like a weed in such a wonderful way. What has happened in this month is overwhelming. Lily cut 3 new teeth on the top, started to sleep til after 5 in the morning, started her on goat's milk to supplement and gained 2 pounds in 3 weeks. She began walking at the end of the month, is doing some sign language (all done, drink, more). She is into absolutely everything, climbing on everything, and messing up everything Kaelyn is trying to accomplish. She has gotten comfortable not having mom at her side all the time and enjoys her daddy more and more each day. She can climb the stairs and sometimes remembers how to come down. She has gotten too busy to want to nurse during the day, but certainly enjoys it at night. Lily loves books and music. She is a pretty good eater too. She poops on the potty most of the time and sometimes pees, but would rather not most of the time. There is so much more that could be said if only I had written it when it had happend. Lily is such a delight and her personality is really coming out. What a joy.
